Body-Centered Therapy for Emotional Regulation: EFT Tapping

Integrating your body into your therapy sessions is one of the fastest ways to reduce anxiety, increase awareness, and restore a sense of embodiment and empowerment into your life.

Emotional Freedom Technique (i.e. EFT or “tapping”) can quickly and easily reduce symptoms of anxiety, depression, insomnia, chronic pain and clear away old, firmly held, negative core beliefs. EFT is also effective for inner-child work, parts work, and trauma healing. Most importantly, EFT is an evidenced-based, easy to learn and easy to use, and it’s effective!

What is EFT?

EFT relies on the ancient meridians of energy that run through your body and by tapping on these points, you can reset your nervous system and calm your amygdala. You may already intuitively rub, tap, or massage some of these areas on your body when you are stressed!)

The process of EFT tapping combines gently tapping along energy pathways (meridians) on your own body with specific language, words, and images. This simultaneous use of words and movement is highly effective at calming the fight or flight center (amygdala) of the brain. The words and images will be tailored to your specific needs and are easily adapted as you move through different emotional states.

You can use EFT prior to an important work meeting; to restore peace after a panic attack; or to release anger after a fight. With just 5- 10 mins of tapping the relief is tangible. Curious?

What to Expect

We will meet via HIPAA secure video conference 1x per week for 50 minutes. We will work together to improve your mood, establish healthy boundaries, and achieve all of your treatment goals. Your sessions will use a combination of traditional talk therapy together with the somatic experience of using Emotional Freedom Technique.
