Treatment for anxiety, trauma and panic attacks

While everyone experiences anxious thoughts from time-to-time, if you have persistent intrusive thoughts, rumination, constant worry, and stomach aches, heart palpitations, or embarrass easily, you may benefit from the help of a professional. If you are experiencing anxiety for the first time, you may be scared or confused, and if you have had life-long anxiety, you may wrongly assume it’s just part of life.

Counseling can help. Picking the right therapist when you have anxiety is vitally important; read my Google reviews here.

Symptoms of Anxiety

Anxiety is an extremely uncomfortable feeling of the mind and body. The mind and body experience anxiety in tandem and you may experience both somatic (or body-centered) and cognitive (or thought centered) symptoms.

  • constant internal chatter or negative self-talk
  • prolonged periods of thinking about one negative thing (e.g. rumination)
  • insomnia
  • hypervigilance and extreme startle response
  • restlessness of the mind
  • diarrhea or GI issues
  • sweaty palms, elevated heart rate, palpitations of the heart
  • poor memory
  • jitteriness
  • panic
