Do you need a mental health evaluation?
“The judge granted Humanitarian Asylum! I wanted to say thank you for your help. I believe your report was instrumental in his decision.”
-female, African, Asylum seeker
Forensic evaluations by a trained mental health clinician are an important component of any successful immigration case. Recent reports indicate that the success rate can almost double when a forensic evaluation is included as part of your lawyer’s case. This office offers forensic evaluations for:
- VAWA (both men and women qualify under the Violence Against Women Act)
- Asylum
- U Visas
- T Visas
- Extreme Hardship
Forensic evaluations include extensive interviewing by a licensed mental health therapist and a thorough, professionally written report to support your immigration case. Interviews take 2-3 hours, and reports are about 15- 20 pages in length. All interviews are conducted in English, but, if you need an interpreter, you can find a qualified professional interpreter here.
I am uniquely qualified and trained to support your family through this arduous journey. So, if you are a lawyer, a worried spouse, or a concerned family member, please contact me to schedule your free consultation call.
What to Expect
Forensic evaluations will require 1-2 video conference sessions, each lasting 90-120 minutes. After completing the interviews, I will write a report and review it with you. Once you, the client, have reviewed the report for accuracy, I will submit a final report to you and your lawyer.
This report will be an important part of your case with the immigration authorities, and these reports can only be conducted by licensed mental health professionals, like me. And, if you have questions about your extreme hardship qualifications, you can learn more here.
Please allow at least three weeks from the start to the completion of your interview and final report. Due to strict licensing requirements, these services are only available to clients who live in the states of Maryland or South Carolina.
